If you thought that living in downtown Toronto was too expensive and too unfriendly, we have something to share with you. Windmill Line is located in a very central neighbourhood that is rapidly becoming one of the most vibrant and livable in Toronto. And, if you lived here, you would be part of a genuine community that cares for its space and its people. Our non-profit model is what helps keep our living costs so low.
Windmill Line is just a few minutes' walk from two of Toronto's most famous landmarks — the Distillery District and St. Lawrence Market. We're equally close to the exciting new waterfront development taking place along Queens Quay East. We are surrounded by shops, restaurants, schools, recreation centres and parks. Yonge Street is less than thirty minutes by foot and transit is very accessible for more ambitious excursions or commuting.
Since the co-op was started in the early 1980s, many members have enjoyed the friendliness and security of this neighbourhood, and of Windmill Line itself.
If you become part of this sharing and caring community, you'll be among neighbours from a very diverse mix of cultures, incomes, and needs. Even so, the one thing we all have in common is a commitment to co-operative living and to the volunteer effort needed to maintain a high-quality yet affordable living space.
